SHAFT “KYRYVORIZKA”
In July 1971, miners at this shaft extracted the first tons of iron ore. Until 1989, “Kyryvorizka” was part of the Karl Liebknecht Mining Administration.
Currently, iron ore mining occurs at depths of 1315-1390 meters. The shaft is equipped with machinery from leading global manufacturers. Presently, two high-performance Swedish tunneling complexes are in operation, with three more loading and delivery machines starting work soon. For exploratory core drilling, a Diamec U4 machine is employed. In 2013, two blocks were prepared for ore extraction using self-propelled equipment. In July 2015, the first commissioning complex at a depth of 1390-1465 meters was put into operation. To improve the quality of commercial iron ore, the first stage of the dry magnetic separation installation PRS-22/20 has been implemented at “Kyryvorizka”.
SHAFT “POKROVSKA”
This shaft was commissioned in 1957. At that time, it was part of the Komintern Mining Administration and remained under the “Oktabrsk” Mining Administration until 2000.
Iron ore extraction currently takes place at a depth of 1265 meters, which was put into operation at the end of 2009. The experimental block of the “Pokrovskaya” shaft has already implemented self-propelled equipment technology for tunneling operations as well as for the direct release and delivery of ore mass. The Diamec drilling rig is utilized for exploration.
In August 2014, a skip hoisting installation was commissioned at the “Pokrovskaya” shaft (Zorya shaft). It features two synchronous motors, with a maximum speed of 12.56 m/s, a lifting height of 1717 m, and a load capacity of 50 tons.
The shaft operates two self-propelled drilling rigs and five loading and delivery machines.
Construction of a new underground horizon at 1340 meters is being carried out by mining construction workers using imported tunneling equipment.
SHAFT “KOZATSKA”
The first trial skip with rich iron ore was lifted from a depth of 552 meters at the shaft in December 1964. The “Kozatska” shaft began full operation in 1965, initially part of the Rosa Luxemburg Mining Administration, later (1988-1989) under the Lenin Mining Administration.
Iron ore is currently extracted from a depth of 1350 meters. The shaft is equipped with the latest equipment from leading global manufacturers: a tunneling complex, loading and delivery machine, and Rhino 400H combine for unmanned upward tunneling, along with a Diamec core drilling rig.
Construction workers have commenced tunneling for a new horizon at 1430 meters. Preparatory work is underway to replace the skip hoisting installation, which is expected to be operational by 2017.
SHAFT “TERNIVSKA”
This shaft was commissioned in 1963, with its first tons of ore extracted in 1964. It was part of the Ordzhonikidze Mining Administration, which was later renamed the Lenin Mining Administration.
Currently, extraction occurs at a depth of 1350 meters, which was commissioned in 2010. The shaft has started implementing high-performance imported mining equipment: loading and delivery machines, specifically 1 LK-07 and 1 ST2D.
In 2011, a skip hoisting machine was replaced at the shaft, meeting the highest global standards for energy efficiency, allowing for the extraction of mining mass from depths over 1,800 meters, significantly conserving electricity and improving occupational safety.
Diamec drilling rigs are used for exploration. Construction workers are developing a new horizon at a depth of 1425 meters for miners of this structural unit.
MINING CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION
Workers in this structural unit carry out the tunneling of mining capital excavations (including the deepening of shafts, construction of bunker-feeder complexes, etc.) for new mining horizons. The mining construction workers operate at depths of 1040-1615 meters. They have at their disposal nine modern high-speed tunneling complexes and dump trucks for transporting mining mass underground.
